According to a recent psychological study by researchers from Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and leadership coaching firm BetterUp, people underestimate the degree to which others like them in small groups or while working in teams. The study says that people like you more than you think.

Further, the study suggests that the ‘liking gap’ is lthe argest immediately after an initial conversation and smaller in groups that have known each other longer. Erica Boothby, co-author of the research says, “The impacts are far-flung. If you think you’re well-liked around the office, you’re more likely to give honest feedback about teammates’ work, helping your team communicate more effectively and perform better.”
