Do you see yourself worrying about each and every situations? Has your worries affected your sleep, hunger, work or other routine activities? Do you have fears that you cant stop thinking about? Often times, we sit with our worries that become big in our minds. There are also times when you feel everything at once – anxiety, fear, nervousness, disappointments etc. The Bible  is a collection of religious texts or scriptures that are known to be sacred in Christianity, Judaism, Samaritanism, Islam, the Baha’i Faith, and many other Abrahamic religions. The holy book is a compilation of texts that include instructions, stories, poetry, and prophecies, and other genres. Here are few selected short bible verses on fear and anxiety.

 According to World Health Organization (WHO), around 264 million people have been reported to suffer from some level of anxiety worldwide. The COVID-19 pandemic also triggered 25% increase in such health conditions.  At such times having faith in yourself and spirituality could be a great way to handle fear and anxiety. The Holy Bible has a lot of verses that start with ‘fear not..’, which tells you that even spirituality gives out the message of having faith above all.

Bible Verses on Fear :

1. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

2. …for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what can man do to me?” -Hebrews 13:5b-6

3. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. -Exodus 14:14

4. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. -2 Timothy 1:7

5. The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. -Psalm 34:17

6. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. -Deuteronomy 31:6

7. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. -Psalm 46:1–3

4. Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.’  -Isaiah 35:4 

5.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. -Matthew 6:34

6. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
